Working with your yellow partners and Cat Dealers, we execute key components of digital and marketing portfolios, including global marketing & brand, enterprise data, analytics and AI, equipment management, eCommerce, digital marketing, rental & used digital solutions, and aftermarket leads & insights.**What You Will Do**As a Software Engineer on the Platform Services team, you will be responsible for developing backend APIs that can be used by multiple digital applications. The team currently develops variety of core/common & reusable services such as user onboarding, organization hierarchy, asset dynamic attributes, etc. into Caterpillar’s digital eco system.**What You Will Have - Skills and Experiences*** **Decision Making and Critical Thinking**: knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment* **Effective Communications**: understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors* **Software Development**: knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements* **Software Development Life Cycle**: knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace* **Software Integration Engineering**: knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages* **Software Product Design/Architecture**: knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into software product design* **Software Product Technical Knowledge**: knowledge of technical aspects of a software product; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products* **Software Product Testing**: knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements**Top Candidates May Have:*** Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree (selected candidates must complete their degree by their start date)* 0-2 years of relevant experience related to this field (internships or academic projects are a plus)* Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0/ 4.0 (no rounding)* Experience in developing, maintaining and supporting back-end services using JAVA 25 or higher and SpringBoot RESTFul API Development* Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.**Additional Information*** Ideal for those building foundational skills in software engineering, generally within the first 24 months of their career* Locations for this position are Peoria or Chicago Illinois* Basic relocation may be available, depending on relocation qualifications* Sponsorship is NOT available for this position### ### **Summary Pay Range:**$79,800.00 - $119,760.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
