Certified Surgical Technologist

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team. This assignment is located in Milwaukee, WI at a hospital and emphasizes neuro surgical experience. Candidates must have recent Neuro case experience and proficiency with a broad range of OR specialties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified OR tech / Surg Tech in a surgical environment.
• Strong background in Neuro procedures, including craniotomy, external ventricular drain (EVD) placement, and spine procedures. Must have performed Neuro cases within the last 2 years. (Client-specific requirement.)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication systems preferred.
• Cross-training or experience across Main OR specialties and Urology center preferred.
• First Assist candidates must have documented first assist skills checklist; BLS required for First Assist roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Neuro/ENT, Orthopedic, Vascular, Laparoscopic, Oncology, GU, GYN, and robotic procedures. Prefer recent exposure to Vascular and Robotic cases.
• Previous work in a Level III Trauma Center or similar high-acuity hospital setting.
• Familiarity with 1:1 patient ratios in the OR environment.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0900 – 1730.
• Standard hours per week: 40.
• Orientation estimated at 1 to 1.5 weeks, depending on team and shift.
• Floating: Cross trained to all Main OR specialties and Urology center; no floating to other hospitals.
• On-call expectations: 30 minute response time. General/Neuro on-call follows an 8-week call schedule with weekday and periodic weekend slots; Orthopedic Surgical Assistants follow an 8-week call schedule with one weekday assignment per week and periodic weekend call.
• Parking: free parking provided; day staff parking located approximately two blocks from campus.
• Scrub attire: surgical scrubs provided; scrub caps allowed if covered by surgical bouffant.
