Senior BI Platform Operations Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 134,000 per year Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise BI platforms in production environments
• Strong experience with Tableau Server administration and operational support
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight administration and authoring

• Provide day-to-day production support and administration for Tableau, Amazon QuickSight / Quick Suite, the BI-as-a-Service platform, and supporting AWS services
• Monitor availability, performance, capacity, scheduled workloads, and overall platform health
• Investigate and resolve incidents, user issues, failed jobs, connectivity and access problems, API failures, and platform errors
• Conduct root-cause analysis and collaborate with engineering, application, data, and infrastructure teams to address recurring issues
• Support incident, problem, release, and change-management processes; maintain runbooks, procedures, and support documentation
• Identify automation opportunities and recommend improvements to platform reliability, health, and supportability
• Administer Tableau Server, including configuration, upgrades, patching, maintenance, sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, and content access
• Troubleshoot Tableau extracts, refresh schedules, data-source connectivity, authentication, performance, logs, resource utilization, and platform processes
• Provide operational support for QuickSight / Quick Suite assets, authoring, publishing, sharing, permissions, access controls, and data-source configuration
• Troubleshoot dataset ingestion and refresh issues, including SPICE, scheduled refreshes, direct queries, Athena connectivity, and other supported data sources
• Support QuickSight APIs, AWS SDK integrations, embedded capabilities, authentication, authorization, and programmatic asset management
• Support Amazon Q and generative, conversational, and agentic BI capabilities, including Topics, semantic configuration, agents, and Spaces
• Troubleshoot the BIaaS platform across APIs, backend services, AWS infrastructure, data services, QuickSight, and Quick Suite
• Assist with deployments, configuration changes, environment maintenance, and production releases, and work with engineering teams to resolve defects
• Support AWS analytics services, including Athena, Glue Data Catalog, and Lake Formation; troubleshoot queries, metadata, schemas, partitions, permissions, and data access
• Support and troubleshoot AWS Lambda functions, API Gateway endpoints, REST APIs, and integrations with backend services and QuickSight
• Use CloudWatch logs, metrics, dashboards, and alarms to diagnose incidents, correlate service events, improve monitoring, and identify detection gaps

We are seeking a hands-on BI Platform Operations Engineer for a production support and platform engineering role, rather than dashboard or report development. The position supports enterprise BI platforms and associated AWS services, including Tableau, Amazon QuickSight / Quick Suite, and our custom BI-as-a-Service platform. That platform combines backend services, REST APIs, AWS serverless and data services, and a web-based interface. In Canada, this role is offered on a subcontractor basis. For the New York City position, compensation is described as 00 UAS gross per year and is based on interview results.
