JOB POSTING NOTICE OF VACANCY June 2026 Dean of Students Location: Lakeshore High School, Stevensville, MI 49127. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. Valid Michigan administrative certification. Minimum of three years of experience teaching at the high school level. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and positive behavior support strategies. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Familiar with the use of data tracking through PowerSchool, MTSS, and BTAM. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor school culture programs that support a positive school environment for both students and staff. Maintain and update student 504 plans in collaboration with staff, families, and appropriate support personnel. Conduct teacher observations and evaluations. Engage in regular check‑ins with at‑risk students to identify barriers to success, create plans and next steps, monitor progress, and provide appropriate interventions and referrals. Provide individualized support for students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to develop and implement tiered intervention strategies to address student needs based on data. Serve as a liaison between students and school staff to ensure that student voices and concerns are heard and addressed. Implement a comprehensive system of support and accountability for at‑risk seniors. Develop a comprehensive plan to track, monitor, and improve daily student attendance. Work with the assistant principal to enforce school policy and support a safe and orderly school environment. Serve as a member of the behavioral threat assessment team. Attend and facilitate leadership team meetings as assigned. Assist with building safety and security on a daily basis and help with staff training activities. Monitor and supervise students during the school day in hallways, the cafeteria, and other common areas. Assist at sporting events and school activities in supervisory and game management roles.
