The company has also expanded its growth into new battery technology and chemical plants to support the growing expansion of electric vehicles.

Job Title: Traveling Industrial Construction Superintendent

This position will primarily support industrial projects in the Houston / Gulf Coast region, including chemical, automotive, semiconductor, food, and related facilities.

Location: Houston, TX

Reports to: Executive Vice President / CCO and General Manager

Position & Location Details

• The candidate must be based in Houston, TX , as Houston will be the primary work base.

• This is a traveling industrial construction position requiring travel to project sites as needed.

• Current project/client activity includes Texas and Alabama , with potential future projects in Louisiana and Mississippi .

• Travel may be up to 50% , depending on project requirements.

• The company is primarily seeking local Houston-area candidates .

• Relocation candidates may be considered; however, daily per diem and accommodation are generally not provided , as the preference is for candidates already based locally.

• Compensation is dependent on the candidate's knowledge, experience, and overall qualifications.

• Candidates with compensation expectations above $95,000 may be considered depending on their knowledge, experience, and overall fit for the position.

Job Description

The Traveling Industrial Construction Superintendent will assist in managing and delegating designated field activities associated with industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will lead the project team to ensure the project is completed on time, safely, and within budget in accordance with established policies and procedures.

The Superintendent will coordinate with owners, suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, engineers, and other related parties to achieve successful project completion in a timely and quality manner.

Essential FunctionsPreconstruction Services

• Participate in reviewing drawings and specifications.

• Estimate the cost and manhours needed on the project to complete tasks and achieve customer project expectations within budget and on schedule.

• Participate in preconstruction planning regarding all aspects of the budget and project schedule.

Project Start-Up and Scheduling

• Understand project specifications and the contract's general conditions.

• Confirm that all materials and subcontract work are scheduled accurately and comply with contract documents and quality specifications.

• Ensure all materials are properly tested according to specifications and that all test results are properly recorded.

• Attend site visits and inspections of subcontractors and vendors to maintain the quality of the work.

• Assist with project mobilization and startup activities.

• Coordinate field activities to maintain project schedules and milestones.

Project Administration, Operations, and Close-Out

• Coordinate and monitor the progress of subcontractors and other related parties in designated areas of expertise.

• Communicate with management, subcontractors, and all related parties, providing consistent expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, policies and procedures, permits, safety, quality control, and other performance standards.

• Attend daily and weekly project progress meetings with subcontractor representatives.

• Understand upcoming work activities and ensure that planned work is completed according to schedule.

• Monitor field activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

• Identify potential schedule, quality, or construction issues and assist in developing solutions.

• Ensure the project closeout process is finalized to settle all financial obligations, demobilize resources, and transition the project to the customer.

Promote Customer Relations

• Build effective relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.

• Maintain professional communication with project stakeholders.

• Support efforts to meet and exceed customer expectations.

• Represent the company professionally at project sites and during customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) and/or Construction Management Degree preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industrial or construction field .

• Experience working on industrial construction projects is strongly preferred.

• Experience working in a Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Project Engineer, or similar field leadership role is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not required.

• Working knowledge of construction contract language and terms.

• Ability to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to estimate project costs considering the appropriate labor, materials, and equipment necessary for estimation and execution of the project is preferred.

• Ability to problem solve and execute changes in the schedule as needed while making decisions under tight deadlines.

• Ability to organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.

• Working knowledge of and ability to apply OSHA safety standards.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, field operations, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.

• Commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations.

• Proficiency in using a personal computer (PC) and communication tools such as email, internet, and Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Office, and Outlook.

• Ability to dictate and/or review daily logs, monthly reports, and other project documentation as needed for clarification and updates of project progress.

• Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% to project sites as required.

Travel Requirements

• This position requires up to 50% travel based on project requirements.

• Current project/client activity is primarily in Texas and Alabama .

• Potential future project activity may include Louisiana and Mississippi .

• Travel may also be required to other U.S. project locations depending on business needs.

• Houston, TX will be the candidate's primary work base.

• Candidates should be comfortable traveling to and working at industrial construction project sites.

• The company is primarily seeking local Houston-area candidates .

• Daily per diem and accommodation are generally not provided , as the preference is for candidates who are already local to Houston.

Working Environment

• Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office, trailer, or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by safety policies and weather conditions.

• Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, and possible holidays as required by the project schedule to meet customer deadlines.

• Must be comfortable working in industrial construction environments and adapting to changing project conditions.

• The candidate will be based in Houston, TX but will be required to travel to project sites throughout the Gulf Coast region and occasionally to other U.S. locations.

• The position may involve working at chemical, automotive, semiconductor, food, manufacturing, and other industrial facilities.

Compensation
