Data Center Construction Manager - Owners Rep

PKAZA - Seattle, WA, United States VP Construction - Data Center Project Delivery This opportunity is with a leading provider of mission‑critical data center solutions as a Managed Services Provider. The firm offers a full life‑cycle of custom‑fit solutions for mission‑critical facilities. The VP of Construction Projects will support delivery of upgrades, retrofits, and complex projects in a live environment, acting as an Owner’s Rep across the West Coast. Responsibilities Leadership position in the development and execution of strategy for the construction PM team Contribute to expanding existing business with other business units and sourcing new projects Manage relationships with strategic alliance clients and serve as a key resource to multiple client teams Maintain liaison with Project Managers overseeing project deliverables, contractors and vendors in order to manage day‑to‑day activities impacting critical facilities construction projects Performance manage all contracted vendors, consultants, etc. Provide guidance with on‑site supervision when needed to ensure project performance criteria are met Act as a project executive, overseeing multiple project implementations on the West Coast Negotiate contracts with customers and vendors as necessary Manage financial aspects of the entire project: establish and manage budgets, maintain monthly forecasts and cash‑flow analysis, prepare anticipated cost reports, and produce other reports protecting the company’s interest while maintaining good client relationships Provide construction cost/benefit analysis; responsibilities include pre‑construction duties such as design, entitlements, bidding, permitting, consultant and vendor selection, schedule creation, contractor selection, etc. Deliver Built‑to‑Suit projects, upgrades and retrofits with a heavy emphasis on value‑engineering Drive company standards uniformly across all project participants on all projects Identify, manage and mitigate potential liabilities and risks (fee, company reputation, errors and omissions, etc.) Maintain client relationships and manage conflict resolution Represent the company in project meetings Manage and hire a team of project managers; responsible for attracting, retaining, developing and managing the team Train and develop project team members in skills and understanding of firm procedures, methodology and practices expected for successful project implementation Ensure Project Managers follow company and industry best practices, with full accuracy and transparency to all stakeholders regarding project issues that affect the firm’s reputation Qualifications BA or BS a plus; advanced degree a plus Minimum of 7‑10+ years of experience managing data center or mission‑critical construction projects with progressive leadership responsibility Experience managing multiple Data Center Construction Projects as Owner or General Contractor Demonstrated ability to manage retrofit projects, interior fit‑outs, upgrades, or multi‑site capital programs in a live data center environment Deep understanding of the design and construction process for mission‑critical building systems Executive‑level client‑facing experience with strong relationship management and advisory capabilities Proven leadership experience supervising, mentoring, and developing project managers and teams Strong financial expertise with proven success managing complex project budgets, executive reporting, scheduling and SOPs related to corporate realestate Computer proficiency including MS Project, Excel, and enterprise project controls tools such as Primavera P6; AutoCAD a plus Highly organized with strong analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills Exceptional communication skills across written, verbal, and executive‑level presentations Ability to support both internal and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, client representatives, etc.) Ability to work independently and make high‑impact decisions affecting large capital programs Advanced contract negotiation and vendor management experience Willingness to travel as required to support project and client needs Active participation in professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24 Exchange, PTC, Datacenter Dynamics, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow/DICE, etc. Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus; experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes – EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army – Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc. Benefits Company offers competitive salaries and benefits package including medical insurance and a 401(k) plan.
