Sterile Processing Tech

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and readiness of surgical tools and equipment in alignment with healthcare standards.

Shift And Schedule

• Shift: 5x8s, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
• On-call Requirement: All technicians will be required to be on call at least once every two months.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments.
• Reprocess scopes and other surgical equipment as per established protocols.
• Assist in maintaining the sterile supply inventory and documentation.
• Adhere to safety and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing is required.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping techniques is mandatory.
• Scope reprocessing experience is essential.
• Preferred types of case experience include neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.

Miscellaneous Information

• Local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off must be provided at the time of submission; no requests will be approved after the contract is signed.
• Facility may call off one shift every two weeks.
