Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (0645–0715) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit managing labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum patients from 20 weeks gestation and above
• Administer and monitor medications and treatments including magnesium sulfate, insulin, and pitocin; care for patients with multiples, VBACs, and varying gestational ages
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for Labor and Delivery and 1:4 for postpartum couplets
• Utilize the Centricity FHM system for fetal heart monitoring and document care using EPIC EMR
• Circulate C-sections when the OR team is not yet present, as needed
• Participate in weekend rotation (minimum 2 weekends per month) and integrate into the facility holiday rotation; be available for on-call assignments due to census fluctuations

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications
• Experience in Labor and Delivery including triage, postpartum, and couplet care
• Ability to circulate C-sections independently when required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemption requests considered on a case-by-case basis)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Centricity Fetal Heart Monitoring system
• Comfort and experience with high-risk obstetric patients including mag drips, insulin management, and multiples
• Flexibility to assist as helping hands in MedSurg or Emergency Department if census and skill set allow
