Experienced Litigation Attorney

We're partnering with an established, well-regarded law firm in Orange County, NY that is adding an experienced litigation attorney to its team. The firm offers meaningful work, real responsibility, and a collaborative environment.

You'll handle a full litigation caseload from pleadings through trial, with direct client contact and significant ownership of your matters. The firm is looking for someone self-directed, strategic, and comfortable in the courtroom.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from intake through resolution, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings
• Develop case strategy and advise clients on risks, options, and outcomes
• Appear in state and federal courts for hearings, conferences, and trials
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes efficiently
• Collaborate with partners and staff, and mentor junior team members as appropriate

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York and in good standing
• 4-10 years of litigation experience, with meaningful first- or second-chair experience
• Demonstrated experience with depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple matters independently
• Federal court admission (SDNY/NDNY) is a plus
