Interim Audit Readiness Consultant Technical Accounting

Our client, a fast-scaling fintech in the payments space, is looking for an experienced audit-readiness consultant to get the finance function audit-ready within approximately three months. This is a hands-on, high-ownership contract role for someone who can start immediately with minimal ramp-up.
What you'll do:
- Lead audit-readiness and preparation ahead of an upcoming audit
- Assess and strengthen internal controls and financial processes (SOX / ICFR)
- Own technical accounting matters under US GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Coordinate month-end close, documentation, and auditor deliverables (PBC lists, schedules, memos)
- Partner with the Head of Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to close gaps quickly
What we're looking for:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Big 4 or top-tier public accounting / audit background, plus in-house or consulting experience
- Demonstrated audit-readiness, SOX, or technical accounting experience
- Fintech, payments, or financial services experience a strong plus
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment
- Available to start on short notice
Engagement: ~3-month contract, remote (US). Full-time or fractional considered depending on scope.
