Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients presenting with a full range of emergency diagnoses including trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and orthopedic injuries
• Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressor administration
• Manage and monitor patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation
• Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions in accordance with facility protocols
• Float within skillset to other areas of the unit as required

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State single-state RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (valid NIHSS required at submission)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Demonstrated clinical experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pediatric emergency care and pediatric spinal cord injury
• Familiarity with specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Prior travel nursing experience accepted, including first-time travelers
