Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Procurement Specialist Location: Alvarado, TX 76009 Duration: 3 Months Pay Rate: $50/hr Start Date: Immediate Benefits may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, education assistance, paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law. Job Description Under direct supervision, plan sourcing of goods and services to support manufacturing, field operations, technology, or project management strategic plans at the plant level. Comply with and execute Category Management strategies in accordance with policies and procedures. Issue purchase orders in response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operations, or projects. Implement agreements for local procurement of goods and services not covered under Category Management. Create request for quotations (RFQ) and organize competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services. Assess supplier performance. Carry out job tasks that indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations. Completion of an undergraduate degree in a technical, business, or similar discipline required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or production environment. Advanced procurement certification preferred (CPM, etc.). Purchase to Pay knowledge is desirable. Key Skills Required Strong computer skills (Excel, email, general systems proficiency). Effective communication skills (phone and email). Strong task and workload management abilities. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in a procurement or production environment. Advanced procurement certifications preferred (e.g., CPM). Experience with SAP and other ERP systems preferred. Interview Process Interviews will be conducted through a combination of video and in-person meetings. Primary Responsibilities Support sourcing and procurement activities for manufacturing, field operations, technology, or project management. Execute Category Management strategies and procurement policies. Issue purchase orders and manage local procurement activities. Create RFQs, coordinate competitive bidding processes, and evaluate supplier performance. Contribute to cost containment, operational efficiency, and procurement effectiveness.
