Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant setting License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS (AHA) Advanced Fetal Monitoring BLS (AHA) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: Must have at least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery; preference for 3 years of experience in similar settings. Candidates must be comfortable with NRP at delivery. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery specialty. The position involves working in a Family Birthing Center which includes Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum care. The facility averages 70-80 births per month, with 60-70 antepartum testing sessions. Patient diagnoses include those at 35 weeks and above, with involvement in twin deliveries. Preterm patients under 35 weeks will be transferred to a higher level of care. RNs are expected to titrate drips, including Pitocin and occasionally insulin. Charge nurses are present on every shift but should ideally not take assignment unless staffing requires it. No nurse aids or surgical techs are assigned to this unit. An OB is available in-house 24/7, with an anesthesia team on-call. Respiratory therapy personnel attend every delivery to provide necessary support and equipment management. There are no Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit. Weekend requirements include working 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Rotating holiday requirements with core staff may be necessary. Floating to other facilities may be required as part of the role. Charting is conducted using an electronic system. This is an acute care setting, and a trauma level will be applicable.
