Notice is hereby given that the following position is available for the 2026-2027 school year in the Harper Creek Community School District, Battle Creek, Michigan.

CLASSIFICATION: Health Aide (Category 1)

LOCATION/ 1 - Middle School - Principal Kim Thayer


SUPERVISOR/


HOURS (approx) On student attendance days Hours 7:15am - 2:45pm including a 30-minute paid lunch


PAY RATE: Per Master Contract - Category 1, Step 1:


$15.50/hour for new employees.


Existing employees will remain on their current contractual step placement.


May earn an additional .35 cents / hour premium with an Associate's degree or higher education or passage of the MTTC (or equivalent) test in reading, writing, and math

STARTING DATE: August 17, 2026 (approximate)

Summary:

Under the guidance of the District Nurse, provides support and assistance in the efficient and safe operation of school health services. Responsibilities include monitoring students for symptoms of illness, supporting student health needs, and providing care for students with chronic medical conditions, including diabetes, in consultation with the District Nurse and building principal. Must be able and willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to facial coverings, face shields, gloves, and other protective gear, to minimize the risk of infection or injury.
