Job Description Starting Date: Immediately Minimum Qualifications Must possess a teaching certificate or a substitute-teaching certificate (60 or more college hours). Duties / Responsibilities Preseason preparation. Size and order uniforms and equipment. Distribute uniforms and orders. Plan, organize and coach summer practices. Plan and receive administrative approval for fundraisers to defray athlete costs. Manage and distribute sports schedules. Complete MSHAA online rules review and NFHS concussion training. Provide first aid for students and maintain emergency procedures. Post information at high schools, middle schools, local parochial and private schools. Hold informational meetings for parents and participants. Keep track of applications, teacher recommendations, physical cards, proof of insurance and attendance for all applicants. Set up and manage tryouts. Follow all state, league, federation, building and district guidelines, procedures and policies. Hold parent meetings. Order buses for activities. Ensure all travel forms are complete. Distribute uniforms and maintain inventory documentation. Manage, supervise and attend all practices. Maintain compliance with MSHSAA eligibility rosters starting five days prior to first eligible contest. Submit a list of transfer students to the Athletic Director within the first two days of practice. Attend all assigned games home and away including post season. Organize additional fundraisers throughout the season. Develop routines and materials for sports assemblies and pep rally. Participate in Homecoming and school spirit activities. Keep accurate records of attendance and athletes’ grades. Report current statistics within two days after contest to STL Prep Sports. Complete MSHSAA post season online forms. Manage and discipline athletes during the year. Submit approved timesheets to the Athletic Director no later than the Wednesday following the reporting period. Maintain parental contact. Assist athletes with college recruitment process. Collect, wash, repair and store uniforms after season. Complete inventory report within two weeks after season. Submit fine cards to the Athletic Director’s Office. Assist with hosting event to distribute letters and awards. Assess year and plan improvements for next year. Attend post athletic evaluation meeting with the Athletic Director. Terms of Employment Athletic contracts are seasonal. Fall contracts are paid one time on approximately November 10; Winter contracts on approximately February 10; Spring contracts on approximately May 10. Required videos: Safe Schools, Concussion, CPR, AED and First Aid. Timesheets if worksheet identifies it as needed. Substitute certificate minimum. Physical Requirements Lifting up to 20 lbs, carrying up to 20 lbs, moving/pushing/pulling up to 20 lbs, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, grasping, use of feet for repetitive movements, exposure to extreme heat or cold, driving.
