Senior Scientist, Biostatistics

Responsibilities Provide biostatistical support for drug/vaccine projects in Early Clinical Development Statistics. Apply sound scientific principles and statistical methods to design and analyze clinical studies for discovery/experimental medicine/clinical pharmacology trials (and possibly regulatory submissions). Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, Statistical Programming, Data Management, and Research Laboratories Scientists to design/analyze clinical trials and coordinate statistical activities. Conduct project work and applied research as needed. Primary Activities Serve as statistical representative on cross-functional teams for product discovery and development strategic planning/execution. Develop protocols and data analysis plans; determine appropriate statistical methodology. Participate in database design meetings to ensure data quality and analysis requirements. Collaborate with statistical programming staff to ensure programs meet analysis requirements, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Analyze/interprete clinical trial data to meet protocol objectives. Prepare oral and written reports for project teams, management, regulators, and investigators. Respond to queries on study design, analysis, and interpretation. Participate in discussions with regulatory agency scientific personnel and investigators. Contribute to innovative statistical methods and applications for clinical trials. Education Minimum Requirement PhD (or equivalent) in statistics/biostatistics, or Master’s in statistics/biostatistics with 3+ years relevant experience. Required Experience/Skills Solid knowledge of statistical analysis methodologies and experimental design. Proficiency with statistical/data software (SAS and/or R); strong oral/written communication; effective teamwork. Ability to learn, be proactive, detail-oriented, and focused on execution. Ability to collaborate on multi-discipline teams. Interest in statistical research and novel methods for clinical trials. Preferred Strong project management and multi-tasking.
