Registered Dental Hygienist

• Greet and seat patients. Take x-rays and make sure to properly label them with teeth numbers in the patient’s clinical chart (images).
• Evaluate gingival health and health of all oral tissue.
• Perform oral cancer exam and take blood pressure.
• Classify patient’s periodontal condition.
• Scale, polish and apply fluoride.
• Periodontal soft tissue curettage.
• Do root planning.
• Do perio probe and charting. Chart lesions, existing restorations and missing teeth.
• Recommend perio consultation; refer out to specialists when necessary.
• Application of non-aerosol and non-caustic topical agents.
• Explain to patients disease process and the role of bacteria in caries and periodontal health.
• Provide patients with instructions for home care; give appropriate educational literature as provided by the office. Recommend intra-oral aids to patients.
• Update medical history and screen for potential problems.
• Enter into the computer and charge out completed treatment you perform.
• Counsel patients for case acceptance.
• Inform Doctor of any special problems with oral hygiene.
• Assist Doctor during clinical exam, record findings and recommendations.
• Record and write notes in computer about treatment you performed, sign and date.
• Communicate with front desk staff any future appointments needed, length of time, which provider and details of necessary treatment.
General Duties:
• Turn on equipment and computer in morning and off at night.
• Set up treatment rooms for each patient.
• Seat and dismiss hygiene patients.
• Manage supplies, instruments, and the state of treatment rooms.
• Disinfect patient chair, cuspidor and counter tops.
• Maintain the cleanliness of hygiene room and the functions of the equipment.
• Clean, sterilize and set up hygiene instruments.
• Sharpen instruments as needed.
• Restock hygiene room.
• Clean and lubricate hand pieces.
• Offer assistant to front desk or clinical staff if you have down time.
• Help office staff maintain cleanliness of entire office as necessary.

Pay

$44~$52 per hour

Shift & Schedule

We are a privately owened dental practice in Albany, NY. Generations of patients have come to our office because of our dedication to providing the very finest dental treatment. We are looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team on Monday and Thursday from 7:45am-5pm. We focus on customer service, a warm and welcoming environment, excellent communication and a family feel. We offer a range of preventative, restorative and cosmetic services as well as crowns, bridges, implant restorations, non-surgical periodontal treatment and teeth whitening. We would love to add a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) for both days, but are willing to hire 2 different RDH's, one for each day each. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you.
