Research Position

Independently oversees and provides patient care management and education, or conducts research using sound nursing judgment, critical thinking, and clinical knowledge and skills. Serves as a mentor/resource to other research and education staff. Provides clinical consultative, educational and research support. Collaborates with primary care and specialty departments across the organization. Interacts with the community and external customers and may disseminates knowledge and expertise to other health professionals including oral presentations and written manuscripts.

Minimum qualifications include a BA, BS, AD in Nursing from a college or university and one to three years of experience as an RN. Current RN licensure in the state of Minnesota is also required. Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles, proficiency in the operation of various office equipment, and electronic medical record systems are necessary.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree, certifications such as Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and/or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), and strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, effective communication skills, and strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills are also desired.

Essential duties include planning and directing complex research and education projects, conducting nursing assessments, developing individualized care plans, coordinating patient care and education, maintaining accurate records, evaluating laboratory and radiology results, ensuring continuity of patient care, assisting in recruitment of study participants, collaborating with primary care and specialty providers, developing educational resources, acting as liaison with departments and external customers, mentoring staff, and performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
