Job Description

RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports directly to Stewarding Supervisor/Assistant Chief Steward/Chief Steward
• Interacts and cooperates with others in the Stewarding Department.
• Interacts and cooperates with other Departments as appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Washes, scrubs, and maintains Kitchen and related walls and floors.
• Operates dishwashing machine to manufacturer's specifications and instructions.
• Washes and scrubs pots and pans used in the Kitchen.
• Arranges Chinaware, Silver in store rooms and shelves.
• Empties various garbage cans as appropriate.
• Assists Kitchen personnel as required.
• Adopts the "Clear as you go" method of working.

1. Sets up work station as required including filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, setting up flatware presoak, and gathering required set-up equipment for pot sink.
2. Rinses/scrapes all dishes; washes dishes and flatware as each rack is filled; may put clean dishes in assigned storage location.
3. Sweeps and mops kitchen floor at the end of each meal period and after each spill.
4. Monitors chemicals and water temperature during shift; changes water at specified intervals.
5. Cleans kitchen equipment such as hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens, and grills; cleans and organizes storeroom.

• Notifies supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe condition.
• Complies with IHG Hygiene and Sanitation standards.
• Complies with Hotel's Health and Safety Policy.
• Maintains a clean and quiet environment for our guests behind the scenes.
• Attends meetings and hotel training sessions as required by hotel management. At IHG we are committed to providing our employees with a safe, secure and healthy workplace. • Perform other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent vocational training
• Previous experience in this position at a similar establishment
• Food Hygiene awareness and at least basic training.
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and
  Management to their understanding.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to provide legible written communication.

Desirable:

• Previous job related experience
• Ability to communicate in a second language
• Food Hygiene certificate
• First aid awareness

• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. Working in a fast paced manner and enviornment
• Ability to prioritize, organize, work delegated and follow through.
• Ability to be a clear thinker remains calm and resolves problems using sound judgment.
• Ability to work under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests and fellow workers.
• Ability to aid in the transportation of all work equipment and produce pertinent.
• To carry out the job.
• Ability to work an 8-hr shift in all types of conditions pertinent to the job.
• Ability to work with all products and equipment prescribed.
• Ability to differentiate Dates.
• Ability to comprehend instructions.
• Ability to plan and aid in the execution of promotions.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

This role requires the following physical labor abilities:

• Ability to lift 20+pounds,
• Ability to push and pull 20+ pounds
• Ability to work 8 hour shift - prolonged standing and/or walking
• Ability to have frequent bending, stretching, kneeling and reaching over head for an 8 hour shift period

The salary range for this role is $26.03 to $28.19 This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
