About This Role
SUMMER is almost upon us and we are looking to hire a few more staff members for our Camp Lotta-Fun program. This is a great opportunity for college students in the field of education. Gain valuable classroom experience with lesson planning, collaborating with co-teachers, working with children and learning classroom management skills. Full time and part-time positions. Please go to the Wee Know School website for an application and additional information regarding our summer program.
What You'll Do- Interact with children on a one on one and group basis
- Set-up and maintain a clean, welcoming and inviting classroom
- Plan developmentally appropriate activities
- Develop weekly lesson plans that include art, science, math, literacy, music and movement, and outdoor activities
- Work as a teaching team with assistant teacher and float teachers, directing as needed
- Engage children in small and large group activities and encourage independent skills
- Provide comfort, encouragement and support to all children
- Post daily adventures on our Playground App for parents
- Attend field trips to various activities
- Communicate effectively and professionally with guardians and co-workers
- Depending on position: Associates Degree, college coursework in the field of education
- At least 18 years of age
- A strong understanding of child development
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
- Class management skills
- Experience in writing lesson plans (depending on position)
- Ability to implement school resources to benefit children's development
- Ability to be flexible and able to adjust program plan to best benefit children
- Ability to communicate with other staff, parents, and children in a positive manner
- Ability to relate to children with joy, compassion, sensitivity and encouragement
- Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
- Evidence of good judgement
- Physical stamina to perform duties
- Must clear full background check & fingerprinting required by the State of WI
- CPR training
- Experience with different age groups of children
- Previous experience working in a team teaching setting
- Enjoys being creative and thinks outside the box
- Brings a favorite skill or hobby that can benefit others
- Has a positive attitude
- Ready to be active with the campers and have fun!
Summer only -
- Full time employees (32+ hrs/wk) receive holiday pay
- Direct Deposit payroll every two weeks
- Part-time and full time work options
- No nights or weekends - Open Monday-Friday 6:30am - 5:30pm
