About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – General

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Five 8-hour shifts per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub technologist duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including General, Gynecology, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedics (including total joints), Neurosurgery (head and spine), and Trauma
• Work independently in the operating room with minimal supervision
• Precept and support orientation of other surgical team members as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation as required by the department
• Follow facility dress code and adhere to all departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of current CST experience (non-negotiable)
• Active NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in General, Gynecology, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedics (including total joints), Neurosurgery/Head/Spine, and Trauma procedures
• Prior travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Ability to precept and work independently; must be willing to take call and work five 8-hour shifts (10- and 12-hour shift schedules are not available)
• Must have personal reliable transportation
• Two recent supervisory signed references (within the past two years) required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with C-sections, ENT, Plastics, and/or DaVinci Robotic procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse electronic health record system
