Vehicle Operator

Summary This position is located at Club Stewart, Fort Stewart, GA. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Drives passenger buses regardless of gross vehicle weight and various types of trucks such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks weighing from 26,000 to 32,000. Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials. Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records. Fills out driver's accident report in case of accident. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. The operator receives instructions from the supervisor or dispatcher as to the type of vehicle to be operated, destination, purpose, deadline, and work to be done. Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. This position requires working days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Satisfactory completion of physical examination. Lifting Requirement Must be able to lift and carry heavy items weighing 40 pounds and over occasionally. All required pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation and physical examination. Possession of a valid state driver's license or CDL to operate a government vehicle with a capacity for transporting 24 passengers is required. This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R. This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP). As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs. Light physical effort is required in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort is required in making couplings and maneuvering the longer and heavier vehicles. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle OR Requires a commercial drivers license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24 passenger vehicle Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit.
