Software Engineer Mossville, IL Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00am – 4:00pm Duration: 12 Months Site: 2427 E Engine Drive, Mossville, IL 61523 Export Control: Yes Will Close to New Subs: 3/11 @ 1:00pm Top skills: Database design experience, Python or C++, AWS or solid programming experience Job Description Responsibilities Include: This position's key role is to implement an AWS cloud database storage for the calculated condition indicator information coming off of our machines. From the machine, files will be transferred to our cloud system by existing means, then we will parse the files (using Google Protbuf tools), store the results into a Condition Indicator database (Snowflake or AWS Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL) that the candidate will design and implement and provide support for those developers developing database API's to access the information. Script/programs to manipulate files and insert data into the databases can be written in whichever AWS supported language the candidate is most familiar with, probably Python or C/C++. Source code for database creation and scripts/applications will be version controlled in Git. The Analytics, Virtual Sensors and Controls Group develops condition monitoring algorithms to predict component failure over longer time scales (hours-weeks-months) to optimize machine maintenance, prevent unscheduled downtime and minimize customer cost. These algorithms are typically built on time series data from our machines, tested and validated in our cloud environment and then deployed locally into the various control and information ECM's on our machines. Typical Day: Remote work is a possibility with verified and demonstrated ability to perform role responsibilities. Requirements gathering Database design and development Working with Onboard SW team to coordinate information flows between machine and AWS Build, testing and deployment into AWS test and production environments Documenting code for later users Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. 4-6 years real time work experience required. Lesser education with comparable applicable experience will be considered. Technical Skills Required Python and/or C/C++ programming experience Git Version Control experience General database and database API design AWS Snowflake DB or PostgreSQL/ MySQL DB Desired but not required: Google Protobuf experience IoT device experience AWS Cloud computing environment experience Soft Skills Required: Demonstrated ability to work remotely, if remote work desired.
