The Challenge
Our client is seeking a Senior CTV QA Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will lead automation initiatives for Connected TV (CTV) applications, develop scalable test frameworks, and drive quality across multiple streaming platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong automation expertise with hands-on experience testing OTT/CTV applications and devices. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to improve automation coverage, accelerate release cycles, and ensure exceptional user experiences across streaming platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

Test Automation & Quality Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable automation frameworks.
Build automated test solutions using Playwright, Cucumber (BDD), JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Create and execute automated tests covering:
Functional Testing
Regression Testing
Smoke Testing
Integration Testing
End-to-End Testing
API Testing
Develop reusable automation components and maintain long-term framework scalability.

CTV Platform Testing
Validate and automate testing across Connected TV platforms, including:
Roku
Fire TV
Android TV
Apple TV
CI/CD & Release Excellence
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Support continuous testing and reliable release processes.
Analyze failures, perform root-cause investigations, and validate defect fixes.

Collaboration & Leadership
Partner closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, estimations, and release activities.
Lead automation strategy and drive continuous quality improvements.
Conduct code reviews and promote automation best practices.
Mentor QA engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Essential Skills & Requirements (Must Have)

Technical Skills
5 7 years of experience in QA Automation and Software Testing.
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
Advanced programming skills in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
Experience building and maintaining Cucumber/BDD-based automation frameworks.
Strong knowledge of automation design principles, including:
Framework Architecture
Page Object Model (POM)
Reusable Components
Test Data Management
Assertions and Validation Strategies
Experience with API testing and automation.
Experience with Git and modern source-control practices.
Hands-on experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines

Domain Experience
Experience testing or automating CTV/OTT applications and devices.
Exposure to one or more CTV platforms such as Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, or Apple TV.

Professional Skills
Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently while leading quality initiatives across teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in CTV, OTT, streaming media, digital media, or video platforms.
Expertise across multiple streaming platforms.
Experience designing or enhancing Playwright-based automation frameworks.
Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript automation ecosystems.
Advanced CI/CD automation integration experience.
Experience with API automation and backend validation.
Experience mentoring QA engineers and reviewing automation code.
Knowledge of performance, compatibility, localization, or cross-platform testing
