Bring your passion for supporting students into an engaging K-12 environment near Kansas City, MO! This contract opportunity spans multiple schools and grade levels, providing essential services as a paraprofessional. Positions are open for the upcoming academic year, beginning August 25 through May 28th, with interviews scheduled for late August. Flexibility is valued—placements may be in elementary, middle, or high school settings, and roles may shift to cover different sites as needed throughout the year.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Substitute Certificate listed on the DESE website, or successful completion of the ParaPro Exam and transcripts on file (applicants must have credentials active prior to the district interview).
• Experience supporting students in classroom and/or special education settings preferred.
• Comfortable assisting with toileting, personal care, and supporting students with behavioral challenges.
• Willingness to float between schools as needed across K-12, based on the needs of the district.
• Positive attitude and strong collaboration skills with teachers, aides, and therapy staff.
• Capable of implementing behavior intervention plans and individualized supports.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer 1:1 support or general classroom assistance.
• Engage with SPED classrooms, helping to ensure student safety, participation, and dignity.
• Adapt and carry out instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Communicate consistently with the educational team to meet student goals.

Schedules vary by school level:

• Middle school: 7:00 am to 2:30 pm
• High school: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm
• Elementary: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
