Senior Real Estate Attorney (Transactional)

An established New York City law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its transactional practice.

This is a hands-on role for an attorney who can independently manage sophisticated real estate transactions, work directly with clients, and move deals from initial negotiation through closing.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial real estate transactions from negotiation through closing
• Draft and negotiate office, retail and other commercial leases
• Handle acquisitions and dispositions , including purchase and sale agreements, diligence and closing matters
• Counsel clients throughout the transaction and negotiate directly with opposing counsel
• Work with brokers, lenders and other transaction participants
• Manage multiple active transactions with a high degree of independence
• Assist with related condominium, cooperative and other real estate matters as needed

Qualifications

• Approximately 8+ years of sophisticated New York commercial real estate transactional experience
• Substantial experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases
• Strong acquisitions and dispositions experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead transactions
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client-management skills
• New York Bar admission

The Opportunity

This position is well suited for an experienced transactional attorney who enjoys running deals and working directly with clients but is not necessarily looking for a traditional partner/business-development track.
