We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Project Manager at our headquarters in Fullerton California . Qualified individuals with at least 8 years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.

General Characteristics

• Independently applies extensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
• Modifies or extends accepted theories and practices of civil engineering to complete assignments.
• Acts in responsible charge of projects.
• Leads tasks and projects of moderately complex scopes.
• Develops plans specifications and other project documents.
• Selects appropriate principles of engineering economics and probability and statistics to analyze risk in a complex civil engineering problem.
• Values and applies ethical behavior in the practice of civil engineering.
• Ability to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

Critical Tasks and Responsibilities

• Project Management
• Manage workload of other engineering staff
• Staff performance reviews
• Meet with clients regarding work and performance of team and regarding current and future work
• Pursue/Acquire work with clients.
• Write and review proposals and scopes of work
• Negotiate work with clients
• Prepare project concepts through final design plans specifications and estimates (PS&E) bid packages
• Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control
• Solve design problems using engineering calculations and following general design standards
• Prepare complete engineering reports related to civil site improvements storm drainage water distribution and transmission systems pumping systems pipelines utilities streets and roadways bikeways sanitary sewer collection systems and water and wastewater facilities
• Prepare project drawings/designs in AutoCAD Civil3D
• Provide comments and markups to PS&E documents.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D to establish horizontal and vertical alignments profiles cross sections and perform earthwork calculations
• Serve on project teams under the supervision of CWE Project/Program Managers and/or Directors/Principals
• Complete assignments on time and within budget and achieve firms quality objectives
• Interact with public and private clients and stakeholders
• Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams
• Develops and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Typically in responsible charge of projects.
• Keeps informed of updates to standards regulations and best practices.
• Analyzes complex civil engineering projects to determine design requirements uncertainties and constraints.
• Acknowledges and applies concepts of sustainability to civil engineering projects.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

• 8 Years of Experience in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Bachelors degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or other Bachelors degree with 12 years Architect-Engineering (AE) industry experience.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Civil Engineering or 12 years of AE experience.
• Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Project etc.).
• Ability to use ESRI ArcMap ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online or related geospatial software
• Proficient in PDF software such as Bluebeam Adobe Acrobat etc.
• Abilities to grasp and become proficient in new software and technologies
• Ability to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
• Good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task prioritize and take direction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
