District-Wide RISE Speech-Language Pathologist

Position Overview Under direction of the Building Principal, the Speech Language Pathologist plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students, fostering an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, ensuring success for every student. They supervise students in a variety of school-related settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, interact with students, parents, staff, and community, develop and modify instructional plans and materials, maintain records, and oversee appropriate use of equipment and facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct speech and language diagnostic evaluations using standardized methods, informal observation, parent interviews, and clinical judgment. Prepare Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and/or instructional plans according to each student's needs. Maintain accurate data, records, tests, and reports in accordance with Delaware statutes, federal regulations, school board policy, and IEP requirements. Consult and collaborate with teachers and staff to plan instruction and implement functional communication systems and strategies within a small‑group classroom setting. Integrate technology into instruction where appropriate. Establish and maintain rapport and professional communication with students, school personnel, and parents. Implement school board and school-based policies to uphold regulations. Continually pursue self-improvement through district in-service training and professional development. Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Student Services or building-level supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Valid or eligible for a State of Delaware license as a Speech/Language Pathologist. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Knowledge of IDEA and IEP implementation. Minimum Qualifications for International Applicants Preferred: Transcripts reviewed by a Department of Education approved professional organization prior to application submission. Physical Requirements During duties, the employee regularly talks, expresses or exchanges ideas by means of spoken word, conveys detailed or important spoken instructions to others, possesses normal cognitive abilities, frequently sits or remains in a stationary position for long periods, and may exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Physical and Environmental Conditions Work is generally performed in a school environment requiring movement around the school and classroom.
