Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU / IMC / Med-Surg setting with an average census of 8 patients across a 12-bed unit with additional ICU rooms
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Levophed, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and other pressors as appropriate to level of care
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; unit utilizes remote telemetry monitoring
• Participate in team nursing model alongside LPN staff, managing a combined patient load per established ratios
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using Cerner EMR
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to help fill gaps in permanent staffing, including potential charge nurse responsibilities and floating to other areas such as the ED

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience (Med-Tele experience alone is not sufficient) or prior ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to titrate drips and independently interpret telemetry strips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with common diagnoses including pneumonia, COVID-19, and post-operative orthopedic patients (knees, hips, falls)
• Prior experience in a charge nurse role
• Willingness and ability to float to the Emergency Department for tasking or holding patients
