Program Overview:
Insight Global @ Meta Reality Labs
Meta Reality Labs consists of a research team that is supporting a long-term effort to create lifelike avatars, making person-to-person communication in virtual reality like “real life.”
Our teams core objective is to collect user data, (scans of the volunteers’ faces and body). We capture facial expressions, eye movement, voice, etc. and then build a virtual model or avatar of that volunteer.
A.I. uses cameras embedded in VR headsets to predict the end users movements based off the collected data. The result is a hyper realistic model of that volunteer whose expressions change in real time when they have a headset on.
