Network and Systems Administrator

City Akron USA We are a leading technology company in Akron seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Network and Systems Administrator to join our team. This is a contract position with the potential for full-time employment for the right candidate. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds including those without prior experience in the field. As our Network and Systems Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network and computer systems. You will work closely with our IT team to maintain upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. This may include installing new equipment, monitoring system performance and providing technical support to employees. To excel in this role you should have a strong understanding of networking systems and protocols as well as experience with various operating systems such as Windows and Linux. Knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization is also preferred. The ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex issues is essential. Responsibilities Install new hardware and software systems Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues Maintain security protocols to protect against cyber threats Provide technical support to employees Resolve any system or network outages in a timely manner Create documentation for system configurations and procedures Collaborate with IT team members on projects or upgrades Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience Proven experience working as a Network or Systems Administrator Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCPIP, DNS, DHCP Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory Familiarity with virtualization technologies VMware Hyper-V Knowledge of cloud computing AWS Azure is a plus Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Excellent problem-solving skills Good communication skills We offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as opportunities for growth and development within our organization.
