About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Underwriter to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will serve as a senior, market-facing portfolio leader, with a primary focus on shaping and executing the business strategy for U.S. property (re)insurance, particularly in the non-catastrophe segment. This role is pivotal in owning portfolio performance, setting underwriting direction, and expanding the business through strategic client and broker partnerships. The VP, Underwriter will be responsible for leading the development of proprietary underwriting insights, influencing capital deployment, and representing the firm as a thought leader on emerging trends and client solutions. A key aspect of the role is to drive profitable growth by architecting market strategy, segment priorities, and product positioning across various opportunities. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or business administration, with at least 5 years' of experience in reinsurance risk analysis. The role requires a deep understanding of proprietary property modeling and pricing tools, reinsurance portfolio construction, and technical risk decision-making in the reinsurance industry. The VP, Underwriter will also be expected to have a proven track record in structuring reinsurance contracts, underwriting emerging risk classes, and leading a team of analysts. The position demands a high level of market influence, enterprise leadership, and the ability to champion a high-performance culture. The candidate should be adept at building and managing high-value client relationships, curating differentiated solutions, and maintaining a disciplined underwriting approach.
