Principal Test Engineer

Principal Test Engineer Job Description: This full‑time position supports a U.S. Government customer by providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission‑related software and systems. Responsibilities Design and implement automated tests for web applications. Key Requirements Active or reinstatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. At least 20 years of senior engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline (a bachelor’s can be substituted by five years of additional engineering experience). U.S. Citizenship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Qualifications Understand how to construct Gherkin to capture desired behavior of a system. Develop and maintain automated test cases. Analyze and interpret test results. Identify, analyze, and resolve automation issues. Occasionally perform manual test verification. Participate in cross‑disciplinary teams. Strong teamwork and communication skills for coordinating with teammates in building automation frameworks. Desired Skills Knowledge of test automation tools or willingness to learn (e.g., Cucumber, Selenium). Experience writing tests in programming languages or willingness to learn (e.g., Python, Java). Understanding of web technologies or willingness to learn (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with databases (e.g., SQL). Experience designing and implementing automated systems to perform software testing. Experience identifying and replicating errors in automation scripts.Experience planning, executing, and analyzing test data to verify performance and efficiency of system. Location Annapolis Junction, MD Salary Range $200,000 to $280,000. SIGN‑ON BONUS eligible.
