Verification Specialist

We're Hiring Verification Specialist Experience: 2-5 years Location: Remote Time Zone: US & Indian Shift Responsibilities Contact previous employers via phone, email, or fax to verify job titles and employment dates. Contact universities, colleges, or high schools to confirm degrees earned, areas of study, and graduation dates. Validate professional licenses, certifications, and educational credentials with state boards or issuing authorities. Identify inconsistencies between the information reported by the applicant and the information gathered from institutions or employers. Update and compile comprehensive reports on verified findings in a database and maintain confidentiality. Communicate with former managers or supervisors to gather feedback on a candidate's work performance and skills. Ensure all screening activities comply with legal standards (e.g., Fair Credit Reporting Act) to prevent negligent hiring. Skills and Qualifications Professional and compelling phone manner for conducting professional follow-ups. High level of accuracy to spot inconsistencies or potential falsifications in records. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management systems. Ability to handle multiple investigations simultaneously and meet daily production goals. Requirements High school diploma (or equivalent) required; Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous experience in background screening, HR, or data verification is often requested.
