Why does the job exist? Under minimal supervision, and employee performs complex tasks related to the analysis and auditing of construction projects. ***This position is within the Audit section of District Two***
How does it get done? Employees in this role perform a variety of routine accounting and auditing functions. Employees follow state and federal laws, rules, regulations, agency policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting and auditing standards. Employees assist others in preparing and reviewing documents and reports for accuracy and compliance with laws, regulations, and standards; analyze, appraise, and make recommendations concerning operational/ financial audits of department/agency construction programs assist with project preparations and calculating expenditures using a variety of computer programs. Employees audit and process estimate payments. Employee will mentor and train staff on audit procedures and requirements.
Who are the customers? Construction project personnel and traveling public.
Ideal Candidate Experience in auditing, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of relevant experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Business reference check and Driver's License verification are also required and employment is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some field work and travel may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs
