Summary This vacancy is for multiple aquatic facilities located on Fort Stewart, GA. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid. Duties Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests and is responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Assists in maintaining the pool and area clean and free from hazards. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position. A one‑year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, para.2, including a Tier 1 background investigation. The incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children. Must have a current health assessment documenting good physical health, free from communicable disease in accordance with current Army Policy. Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity; must obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24‑hour period if exposed to infectious disease. Lifeguards must have good vision (acceptable standard of 20/40 or better, with glasses or contacts, or uncorrected) while on duty. Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. May be assigned to irregular duties or special recreational events; work hours may involve weekend, weekday, holiday, and night duty. Fifteen‑year‑old lifeguards must comply with the DOL Child Labor Law restriction (Jan 17 2006). All required certifications must be kept current. U.S. citizenship or eligibility based on residency for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of federal affiliation. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less) and demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities. Qualified candidates must possess the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent such as Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED). Certifications must be uploaded at the time of application. No education qualification requirement.
