We are seeking a Superintendent to drive excellence in our cutting‑edge Technologies division. From structured cabling to integrated security and AV systems, you’ll lead teams that power the backbone of intelligent buildings nationwide. Responsibilities Leads teams up to 10 team members and works hands‑on to install, repair, terminate, certify and troubleshoot devices and cabling of low‑voltage systems. Works with the Tech Project Manager to establish and follow a budget, manage labor hours, committed costs and material costs. Communicates with the Tech Project Manager regarding completed tasks, potential issues, and manpower requirements in advance. Prepares progress reports and works with the Tech Project Manager to prepare monthly projections that are critical in accurately reflecting cash flow and profits. Ensures work is carried out safely and to industry standards; ensures standards for safe working conditions are observed. Keeps employees aware of all important changes regarding safety policies, industry standards, and general work procedures to ensure work is consistently carried out safely, within all legal parameters and with high quality. Demonstrates advanced leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills with a desire to continue growing those skills. Installs, repairs, terminates, certifies, and labels cabling for one or more of the following systems: Infrastructure (ITS), Access Control/Security, Cameras (CCTV), Paging systems. Installs cables and/or wires into Access Control/Security panels and modules. Installs devices for one or more of the following systems: Access Control/Security, Cameras (CCTV), Access Points (Wi‑Fi), Paging systems. Understands and adheres to POE requirements for cameras (CCTV). Manages and completes service calls that involve troubleshooting and identifying faults with one or more of the following systems: Copper (Analog systems), Fiber, Audio/Visual (AV), Cameras (CCTV). Obtains and changes IP information on cameras as needed. Maintains task and punch lists for projects and oversees their completion. Completes closeout documentation including As‑Builts, test results and Customer System Training accurately. Maintains drawings and labeling of drawings for closeout documents. Plans inventory and materials for use on next day tasks as well as weekly and two‑week look‑aheads; audits material for weekly and monthly look‑ahead work. Collaborates with the Tech Project Manager to evaluate field personnel working under supervision, as needed. Plans daily, weekly, and two‑week look‑ahead tasks, including continual pre‑planning to achieve specified tasks and timelines. Works independently with minimal instruction to build out MDF, IDF, enclosures, ladder tray, basket, and install 2‑4 post racks. Performs punch down, routing, labeling, and dressing of all cabling coming into rack or enclosure correctly and accurately. Installs without supervision one or more of the following: Head‑end equipment, switches, horizontal management, vertical management, UPS system, patch cables, cross‑connect or patch‑in copper or fiber systems; terminates and splices fiber. Identifies differences in multimode and single‑mode fiber, uses certifiers, and interprets copper and fiber test results. Participates in leadership training when given the opportunity. Determines and installs pathways independently. Adheres to BICSI, ANSI, TIA standards and NEC codes for low‑voltage installations. Terminates data jacks and mod plugs; understands specifications of IDF and data closet enclosures and assists with installation and repair; safely feeds cable, wire and/or wires during installation. Uses, maintains, and interprets results for all test equipment; uploads results to the proper location; prints labels as per job specs; keeps detailed device and cabling records. Understands firestopping, riser, and plenum environments. Leads and coaches teams of technicians; capable of leading larger teams as needed. Works with and around other construction trades in a professional, productive and safe manner. Manipulates small electronic parts skillfully and controlledly. Performs skilled work while overcoming environmental challenges such as cramped areas, overhead, heights, and varied weather conditions. Works cooperatively with others; follows direction. Acts quickly in emergency situations and performs under pressure. Completes tasks accurately and productively, seeks guidance for unclear aspects, and immediately seeks a new task when finished. Learns job‑related material through peers, supervisors, and company training. Is accountable for tools and materials used on the jobsite and for securing and returning them to the designated area. Obtains required Amteck safety certifications and works safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Requirements 5‑6 years of verified experience minimum with low‑voltage systems and cabling. Proven experience supervising or training others on this type of work. Has or can obtain an OSHA 30 certificate. Understanding of budgets, labor hours, material and committed costs and how that applies to a job site. Ability to correctly and accurately complete relevant documentation. Demonstrates aptitude to plan project workflow with understanding basis of design and task efficiency. Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following systems: Infrastructure (ITS), Access Control/Security, Cameras (CCTV), and Paging. Ability to install cable and/or wires into Access Control/Security panels and modules. Experience installing devices for one or more of the following systems: Infrastructure (ITS), Access Control/Security, Access Points (Wi‑Fi), Cameras (CCTV), and Paging. Experience troubleshooting and identifying faults for one or more of the following systems: Copper, Fiber, AV, Cameras, and Access Control/Security. Understanding of POE requirements for Cameras (CCTV). Has or is able to obtain relevant manufacturer certifications. Experience with build‑out of MDF, IDF, enclosures, ladder tray, basket, and installing 2‑4 post racks. Experience with punch down, routing, labeling, and dressing all cabling entering rack or enclosure correctly and accurately. Experience installing UPS systems and equipment into rack or enclosure cross‑connect or patch‑in copper or fiber systems. Understanding of multimode and single‑mode fiber differences; able to terminate and splice fiber. Ability to terminate data jacks and mod plugs; properly feed cable, fiber and/or wires. Ability to use, operate and maintain test equipment and interpret copper and fiber test results. Ability to use fluke testing software, COINS, Box, PlanGrid, and related software programs. Can maintain clear and detailed records as needed. Understands firestopping, riser and plenum spaces and the specs needed for each. Knowledge of BICSI, ANSI, TIA standards and NEC codes for low‑voltage installations. Must be able to read a measuring tape to 1/16 of an inch. Provides personal hand tools needed to perform routine work within 30 days of employment, as per Amteck’s tool list. Demonstrates a basic understanding of customer relationships and the concept of customer satisfaction, with an aptitude for growing that skill. Can use hand and power tools safely and cautiously. Can read blueprints, schematics, drawing details, wire maps and other drawings, including specifications of IDF and data closet enclosures. Meets all physical requirements of the position. Able to travel to meet customer objectives when needed.
