Tabor Sales & Automation is looking for an Ohio-based sales representative who already knows people in manufacturing and industrial operations.

You may be an independent sales agent, a manufacturer’s representative, or someone currently selling machinery, industrial components, maintenance, or related services. If your customers also need controls work, equipment upgrades, or ongoing support, this role offers a way to develop those opportunities with TSA.

You will build relationships, open sales channels, and qualify projects. TSA leadership and technical staff handle technical scoping, pricing, proposals, and closing.

This role is performed remotely and requires no office visits.You can begin part-time and increase your activity toward full-time as your availability and pipeline grow.

What you’ll bring to customers

TSA provides and coordinates services that help industrial facilities maintain, upgrade, and commission equipment:

• Preventive maintenance and control panel inspections
• Control panel manufacturing and upgrades
• Control panel commissioning and equipment startup
• PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modernization
• HMI programming and operator control improvements
• Controls integration, equipment retrofits, and production line upgrades
• Machine data and maintenance capabilities through UDMTEK
• Control panel builds and electromechanical assemblies through Limtronik

Individual services can address an immediate problem and create a path to a larger modernization project or ongoing maintenance relationship.

The customers you’ll pursue

Your focus will be Ohio manufacturers, chemical processors, equipment builders, and other facilities that operate industrial machinery. The strongest candidate will already have relevant relationships with plant managers, maintenance leaders, engineers, operations teams, equipment owners, or industrial purchasing contacts.

We are especially interested in applicants who currently represent complementary products or services and can recognize when an existing customer needs PLC work, an HMI upgrade, a new panel, commissioning support, or a maintenance program.

Initial outreach will concentrate within approximately 60 miles of Elyria , with qualified Ohio opportunities farther away considered as capacity allows. Opportunities beyond 100 miles require TSA leadership approval before resources are committed.

What you’ll do

• Introduce TSA to contacts in your existing industrial network and develop new accounts.
• Use calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and in-person industry connections to start conversations.
• Learn what equipment is causing downtime, what controls are aging, and what upgrades are planned.
• Identify the decision maker, operational need, approximate project value, budget or quote path, and timing.
• Arrange technical discovery meetings and site visits with TSA leadership.
• Maintain clear notes and follow-up plans for each opportunity.
• Stay involved as the customer relationship develops, including potential maintenance and expansion work.

You will be expected to pursue meaningful projects, including individual machine or cell opportunities generally valued at $20,000 or more and larger line opportunities generally valued at $150,000 or more . Smaller service needs may also be valuable when they establish a lasting customer relationship.

Compensation and earning examples

This is a commission-only role paying 4% of eligible sales revenue received by TSA from opportunities credited to the representative. There is no base salary or guaranteed income.

For example, two credited $25,000 projects and one credited $112,000 project would produce $6,480 in commission , assuming TSA receives the full eligible amounts. These are arithmetic examples, not promised deal sizes, sales volume, or earnings. Eligibility, shared-account credit, renewals, and payment timing will be defined in the written commission agreement.

Schedule and fit

You manage your prospecting schedule around your availability and customer needs. This can be a part-time opportunity for an established industrial representative or grow into full-time sales activity as the pipeline supports it. You must be able to coordinate customer meetings and handoffs with TSA’s team.

You should be comfortable opening doors and discussing plant problems. You do not need to engineer the solution or set pricing.

Why this role matters

TSA’s 2027 plan calls for $300,000 in core-services revenue , including $80,000 in recurring maintenance or support revenue , and at least one complete system integration booked by year-end. This position helps build the Ohio relationships and qualified pipeline needed to reach those company goals. These figures are company targets, not an individual sales quota.
