Setting: K–12 School-Based (Primarily K–5)
School Sites: 2 School Locations
Job Overview
We are seeking two dedicated Occupational Therapists (OTs) for full-time, school-based opportunities in Lexington, South Carolina for the 2026–2027 school year . These positions will support students across K–12 grade levels , with the majority of the caseload consisting of elementary-aged students (K–5) .
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping students develop the skills needed for success in the classroom, daily activities, and overall independence.
Please Note: This position is for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) only . Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in a school-based setting
- Evaluate and treat students with fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-care, and functional skill needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families
- Support student participation and access within the educational environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in evaluations, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina Occupational Therapist License (Required)
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy
- School-based, pediatric, or early intervention experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEPs, IDEA regulations, and special education services
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
