We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all; while also meeting our obligations to preserve the environment We proudly support our local community with fundraisers, activities, and group donations.POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on production equipment throughout the facility. This role requires strong technical capability, problem-solving skills, thinking outside the box, and the ability to work independently on shift. You will support equipment reliability across extrusion lines, conveyance systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, electrical controls, and plant utilities—ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the manufacturing process.OWENS CORNING MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT • Clean work Environment • Proper equipment documentation and controls • Proper spare part inventory and controls • Equipment is regularly upgraded & maintained • Encouraged to improve processes & modify equipment • Fostering of a "Think Outside the Box" mentality. We encourage ideas. • Team leans on each other to improve the plant and skills of individuals • High retention rateKEY RESPONSIBILITIES MECHANICAL SYSTEMSMaintain, troubleshoot, and rebuild gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chain drives, belts, and mechanical power transmission componentsService and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cylinders, valves, pumps, hoses, regulators, filters, and actuatorsInspect, align, lubricate, and replace components on conveyors, extruders, and material handling equipmentPerform corrective maintenance and collaborate on reliability improvementsAll other duties assigned or neededELECTRICAL & CONTROLSTroubleshoot and repair 480V (high voltage) industrial electrical systems, motors and circuitsDiagnose and repair AC/DC motors, contactors, starters, relays, and VFDsPerform root-cause analysis on electrical faults, nuisance trips, and equipment failuresWork with instrumentation including sensors, flow/pressure devices, temperature controls, and limit switchesRead/interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentationAll other duties assigned or neededGENERAL MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONSExecute preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance using SAPMaintain accurate work order documentation and equipment historyFollow all Owens Corning safety policies and actively participate in safety cultureSupport process improvements and modifications to enhance reliability and efficiencyMaintain 5S and good housekeeping standardsSafety compliance (OSHA, NFPA 70E, L2-5 hears OTO)Maintain a high level of attendanceREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 3 - 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or related environment • High school diploma or GED required • Technical schooling or certifications in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, Automated Systems, or related field • Proven experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical industrial systems • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Lift up to 50 lbs routinely without assistance • Stand/walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces • Work 12-hour shifts in hot/cold industrial environments • Use PPE including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and long sleevesAbout Owens Corning Owens Corning is a branded building products leader with three complementary market-leading businesses providing roofing, insulation, and doors primarily for residential markets in North America and Europe.
