Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator supports complex environmental permitting and compliance efforts across large-scale projects. This role combines regulatory expertise, project coordination, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to keep projects compliant and aligned with schedules and environmental commitments. What are the responsibilities? As an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, you will: Oversee environmental compliance programs and translate regulatory requirements into actionable project practices. Manage permitting activities, including applications, renewals, approvals, variances, and milestone tracking. Evaluate environmental risks and develop practical approaches to address compliance concerns. Coordinate environmental planning, impact reviews, project schedules, cost estimates, and regulatory reporting. Perform compliance audits and due diligence while providing environmental guidance and training to project teams. Track evolving FERC, NEPA, Clean Water Act, ESA, NHPA, and other regulatory requirements and assess their project impacts. Support construction compliance, restoration obligations, spill prevention measures, and other environmental commitments through completion. Collaborate with regulatory agencies, consultants, cross-functional teams, leadership, and project stakeholders. What are the requirements? 4+ years of professional environmental experience. Strong understanding of federal and state environmental permitting, particularly FERC and NEPA processes. Ability to coordinate multiple permits and deadlines across complex, large-scale projects. Experience building permitting timelines and incorporating them into broader project schedules. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication abilities. Capability to lead cross-functional efforts and effectively oversee outside consultants. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general PC tools. Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and proactive problem-solving. You would be really happy here if: Roadblocks don't intimidate you.
