Registered Nurse - Intensive Care - ICU

ICU Travel Nurse PositionICU experience required. Will accept first-time travelers. Permanent staff must wait 2 years before returning as a traveler. Travelers cannot live within a 75-mile radius of the facility. Patient types include respiratory failure, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, CVA's/TIA, post-arrest, ETOH, IVDA, complicated post-operative patients. Pediatrics unit available but no PICU. Trauma or neuro not offered. Patient ratios 1:2-3 (acuity dependent). Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB, CCRN (preferred). Skills required: general ICU experience, invasive line management, insulin drips, critical care drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, BiPap and vent management, experience with drains, chest tubes. Skills preferred: balloon pumps, temporary pacemaker, CRRT. Support on the unit includes CNA/HUC (ratio 1:15), charge nurse, responds to codes/RRT, will assist with HUC duties, phlebotomy, RT, 24/7 intensivist, house supervisor, 24/7. Charting system EPIC (strongly preferred), BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell (medication dispensing). Monitors: Spacelabs. Floating assignments include CVICU, PCCU (cardiac stepdown), ED holding, task RN, ICU overflow/holding. Orientation: 2 days NEO, includes EPIC test, 1 shift in the ICU. Scheduling: weekend rotation every other, no required call, holiday rotation required, up to 5 days approval, otherwise manager approval needed for full week. Shift times: 7a-7p; 7p-7a, cannot clock in until 7 minutes before shift starts. Schedule cycle: 4 weeks. Other notes: scrub color ceil blue and/or white, free parking.
