Team Captain Apparel

Overview Lead the Apparel department by delivering an engaging shopping experience rooted in product knowledge and athlete connection. As a Team Captain – Apparel, you will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure athletes feel confident in their selections. Job Duties & Responsibilities Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating needs and providing clear, accurate product information. Uphold merchandising standards by following floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment, etc. Promote and lead company programs (customer loyalty, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment). Co‑create and execute 30‑60‑90 day plans with the SM and ASM to support business priorities. Develop operational plans related to staffing, hiring, merchandising sets, budgets, and financial goals. Act as Head Coach when sole leader, overseeing opening/closing, front end, cash office, teammate supervision. Communicate departmental goals, assign workloads, and monitor progress, adjusting as needed. Develop schedules, hire, onboard, and retain direct reports; provide training, coaching, feedback, recognition, and motivation. Manage performance, conduct annual reviews, recommend promotions, and handle terminations. Create a welcoming environment respecting all teammates and athletes. Enforce safety, loss prevention, SOPs, and legal compliance. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1‑3 years of experience, preferably in retail/customer‑facing roles. People‑leadership experience preferred. Virtual Requirements Cameras must be on during all virtual interviews. AI tools are not permitted. Offers are contingent upon satisfactory background check including ID verification. Pay and Benefits Targeted pay range: $49,500.00 – $63,500.00. Total rewards may include incentive, equity, and benefits. Individual pay determined by factors such as experience, location, internal equity, and business considerations.
