Senior Financial Analyst

This finance position supports Optum Capital—including budgeting/forecasting, reporting, analytics, productivity, benefit tracking, AI reporting, and other ad‑hoc financial support. The position works closely with senior leadership and SG&A teams. This is a full-time role that requires flexibility to work any shift during normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Overtime may be required at times. Primary Responsibilities Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget Assist with management reporting and system reconciliation Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business Partner with Enterprise AI, Technology, and Business leaders to shape the AI investment roadmap Translate highly complex concepts into ideas that can be understood by a variety of audiences Produce clear, well‑formatted reports and presentations that communicate a compelling message for management Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field Must be 18 years of age or older 1+ year of finance/accounting or systems experience in post‑graduate or internship experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling experience Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization Ability to work full-time and adapt to shift schedules during normal business hours Preferred Qualifications Experience using Tableau, Power BI, Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials Telecommuting Requirements Reside within commutable distance to 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, Minnesota Keep company-sensitive documents secure Maintain a dedicated work area that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy Live in a location with UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet or an existing high-speed service Soft Skills Ability to work independently with little supervision and prioritize work Excellent written communication skills and ability to verbally communicate ideas clearly and confidently Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented; strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Initiative, self-direction, motivation, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment All employees working remotely must adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Salary range is $60,200 – $107,400 annually for full-time employment.
