About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRPS Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery Experience with antepartum patients and intrapartum management Description: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery. Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 on nights. Manage an average daily census of 7-10 patients in a 28-room unit. Care for both antepartum and intrapartum patients. Assist with deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean sections. Perform sterile vaginal exams and monitor fetal heart rates. Administer medications and IV fluids as necessary. Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage postpartum care. Support mothers with breastfeeding and provide lactation education. Adhere to established protocols and standards of care. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Provide patient education and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Participate in continuous professional development and training. Required to float to postpartum unit for couplet care as needed. Must be willing to work weekends and on-call shifts as scheduled. Comply with all safety and infection control guidelines. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Adapt to dynamic and fast-paced clinical environments. Engage in problem-solving and critical thinking in patient care.
