Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS required; CNOR preferred Must-Have: Experience in Robotics, Orthopedics, and Urology Description: Must live over 100 miles away. Four 10-hour shifts from 0630 to 1700. Days off will vary depending on operating room needs and call schedule. Call is required, averaging 4-5 times per month including at least one weekend day. Weekday call hours are from 1700 to 0630, with a 30-minute callback time. A day off will be provided following call if possible; otherwise, days off will be based on department needs. Experience in Robotics, Orthopedics, and Urology is required; all other specialties except for eyes, hearts, thoracic, and vascular are preferred. The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for surgical procedures. Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques. Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans. Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team. Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure. Assembles equipment and supplies, ensuring equipment is functional and necessary supplies/implants are available.
