The ideal candidate will have prior renewable, development, or construction experience and the ability to take the initiative in completing tasks in a time-sensitive and high-quality manner. This role includes significant responsibilities and room for growth within the company.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess high volumes of A/P invoices through Stampli across multiple related legal entities, ensuring proper entity allocation, approvals, supporting documentation, general ledger coding, data entry, and payment processing; identify and resolve vendor account discrepanciesPeriodically compare vendor terms with activity to ensure the most cost- and time- effective payment methods and timing are being usedCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to obtain and verify W-9s and payment instructions, including ACH, wire and BillPay information, and complete required phone verification of vendor banking detailsSet up and maintain new vendors in NetSuite and applicable banking platforms, ensuring accurate and complete vendor informationProcess company credit card transactions through Stampli, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and general ledger codingManage the annual 1099 reporting and filing process, ensuring accurate and timely completion.Assist with compliance issues related to accounts payable processes (W-9, sales and use tax, etc.)Serve as a liaison between Plus Power and more than 300 vendors, addressing billing, payment, and account-related inquiries and issuesReview project-related expenses for appropriate approval and work closely with project management teams to process invoices and ensure timely paymentUpdate, verify and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project contract accounting requirements and internal controlsAssist with producing periodic financial reports and ensure reported results are accurate and comply with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Support the management of external relationships, as requested, including accounting firms, banking partners, investors, insurance brokers and bonding agentsPrepare accounts payable-journal entries, ensure accurate general ledger coding and support the monthly close processReconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly postedGenerate reports detailing accounts payables statusProactively work on initiatives to implement operational accounting efficiencies through process improvements and control enhancementsAssist with supplying documentation for annual audits, loan draws, etc.Support investor reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, as requestedDevelop, implement and effective and efficient internal controls, policies, procedures and workflows to safeguard company assets and promote accurate financial reportingOther projects as assignedSkills & QualificationsBA/BS in Accounting or Finance4+ years' relevant work experience in an accounting departmentCurrent experience in renewable energy, power and utilities, or construction preferredExpert proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel along with macro-writing capabilities, pivot tables, and data queriesWorking knowledge and experience with Stampli, NetSuite or similar softwareStrong organization and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detailHigh degree of business acumen, discretion, and professionalismAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, colleagues and internal stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with team members who are geographically dispersedAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining aligned with company and department objectivesProven ability to stay connected and maintain communication across distributed teams in hybrid or remote settingsStrong desire and demonstrated ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and assume increasing responsibilityAbility to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality resultsCompensation, Location, and BenefitsHighly competitive total compensation from one of North America's leading energy storage developers, owners, and operators, along with market-leading health benefits, 401(k) match, generous paid parental leave, flexible time off, work from home stipend, and other programs designed to support employees and their families.Flexible work arrangements include work-from-home or hybrid options from Plus Power's offices in The Woodlands, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Brooklyn, Denver, Palm Beach Gardens, and Birmingham. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law.
