Senior Environmental Project Manager (Oil, Gas, Remediation) Full-time State/Province: California Business Group: DCS Legal Entity: AECOM Technical Services Inc Business Line: Environment Work Location Model: Hybrid Primary Location: US - Los Angeles, CA -1900 Avenue of Compensation: USD 125,000 - USD 200,000 - yearly AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to support our Oil and Gas business line and can be based in any of our office locations of Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange, Westlake Village, Oakland, San Luis Obispo (SLO), Richmond, or San Diego, California. This role will lead the successful delivery of complex environmental projects for clients in the refining, industrial, and related sectors. The selected candidate will oversee one or more projects from planning through execution, providing strategic project leadership, managing risk, ensuring financial performance, and fostering long‑term client relationships through the consistent delivery of high‑quality project outcomes. Responsibilities Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects. Consistently deliver profit margins planned. Consistently complete projects without write‑downs or multiplier erosion. Typically manage projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors). Manage more complex clients and projects. Have decision‑making authority and direct other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such. Direct staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims. Supervise and direct Project Managers with multiple projects or a program of projects. Qualifications BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Successful candidate will have to pass client required drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle records check. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of environmental consulting experience supporting oil & gas, refining, industrial, or energy‑sector clients. Proven track record managing complex, multi‑disciplinary environmental projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance. Strong client relationship management skills with experience growing key accounts and securing repeat business. Experience leading project teams, mentoring project managers, and managing project risk, contracts, and financial performance. Professional certification or registration preferred, such as PG, PE, CHMM, PMP, or a related credential. Sponsorship is not available now or in the future. Relocation is not available for this role.
