Lead Full-Stack Developer

Role Description

Empower India is seeking a highly motivated Lead Fullstack Developer to serve as the functional owner of an internally developed document automation platform. This role is ideal for an experienced full-stack application developer who enjoys translating business requirements into intuitive, scalable software solutions.

As a key member of the development team, you will own the ongoing enhancement of a business-critical application built with a Laravel/PHP back end and React/TypeScript front end. You will partner closely with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, design application features, and deliver solutions that automate the creation of high-quality business documents, including email communications and PDFs.

This role combines application ownership, full-stack software engineering, and solution design. The ideal candidate brings a strong product mindset, works effectively across the full technology stack, and takes business requirements from concept through implementation.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the functional owner of an internally developed document automation platform, driving the design, development, and continuous improvement of application features.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, intuitive, and user-friendly application functionality.
• Design and develop responsive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Laravel/PHP.
• Design and implement PostgreSQL database structures using Laravel migrations, with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Design and maintain document templates and document-generation workflows supporting a variety of business use cases.
• Develop and maintain Python-based AWS Lambda functions that generate business documents, including email communications and PDFs.
• Integrate the application with enterprise systems, internal APIs, and third-party services.
• Build and maintain cloud-based application components using AWS services, including Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Collaborate with technical team members to ensure solutions align with application architecture, engineering standards, and development best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and source control using Git.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers as appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve usability, automate manual processes, and enhance the overall user experience.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI-powered application capabilities, and recommend solutions that improve business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing modern web applications.
• 3+ years of experience with Laravel/PHP developing and maintaining web applications and backend services.
• 3+ years of experience with React/TypeScript developing modern front-end applications and user interfaces.
• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including relational database design, development, and optimization.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS building, deploying, or integrating cloud-based applications and services.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to define requirements and implement application features.
• Strong full-stack development skills spanning front-end, back-end, database, API, and cloud technologies.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, relational database concepts, and REST API architecture.
• Ability to translate business requirements into intuitive, scalable software solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering reliable, maintainable, and well-documented software.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience integrating enterprise applications with internal and third-party APIs.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience integrating applications using LiteLLM or similar LLM gateway frameworks.
• Exposure to Amazon Bedrock or other generative AI platforms.
• Experience developing document-generation or workflow-automation applications.
• Experience designing responsive, user-focused interfaces and application workflows.
• Experience developing applications in Python, preferably for AWS Lambda.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
