LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR III - 1st Shift

LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR III - 1st Shift Location: Chatsworth, Georgia, United States, 30721 Primary Objective Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials. Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines. Major Functions and Scope Operate a pole, reach, or sheet truck. Operate drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas. Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material. Move pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas. Dump, spray, or release materials into hoppers. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment. Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices. Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines. Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data as required. Record quality and output measures and complete any other necessary paperwork. Perform a pre-shift daily inspection on the lift truck. Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision. Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies. Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary. Perform other tasks assigned by management. Type of Experience and Knowledge Knowledge, Experience and Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Lift Truck Certification preferred. Successful completion of all required on-the-job training. Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training. 6+ months of forklift experience preferred. Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred. Additional Qualifications Operate in a team-based environment. Basic computer skills. Basic math skills. Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment. Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures.
